About The Position

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. This role involves both outpatient and inpatient cardiovascular care, including the interpretation and performance of non-invasive cardiac testing. The physician will primarily practice at outpatient clinic locations, providing comprehensive consultative and longitudinal cardiovascular care. The position also includes participation in the inpatient cardiology service on a rotating basis. A key aspect of this role is serving as the Medical Director of the PPMC Outpatient (PHI3) Cardiology Clinic, where the physician will collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to improve patient access, quality, operational performance, staff engagement, and practice growth, all while upholding Penn Medicine's commitment to patient-centered care. The Division of Cardiology at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC) is a large, well-established group of over 40 full-time cardiologists within the Penn Medicine health system.

Requirements

  • M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
  • Board certified or board eligible in cardiovascular disease.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient and inpatient cardiovascular care.
  • Interpret and perform non-invasive cardiac testing, including echocardiography and stress testing.
  • Provide comprehensive consultative and longitudinal cardiovascular care.
  • Participate in the inpatient cardiology service on a rotating basis.
  • Serve as the Medical Director of the PPMC Outpatient (PHI3) Cardiology Clinic.
  • Partner with clinical and administrative teams to optimize patient access, enhance quality and operational performance, support physician and staff engagement, and foster continued growth of the practice.
  • Contribute to the educational mission of the organization, including teaching medical students, residents, cardiovascular fellows, and advanced practice providers, contributing no less than 100 teaching credits annually.
