About The Position

St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, NJ is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join its growing cardiology program. This is an excellent opportunity for a new cardiology graduate or experienced cardiologist seeking a primarily weekday clinical practice with a predictable call schedule. The physician will provide comprehensive non-invasive cardiovascular care while working alongside a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, hospitalists, advanced practice providers, and other specialists. This position offers an opportunity to teach and mentor cardiology fellows and medical trainees.

Requirements

MD or DO
Completion of an accredited Cardiology Fellowship
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease
Eligible for medical licensure in New Jersey
Strong clinical, communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

Evaluate and manage patients with cardiovascular disease
Perform and interpret non-invasive cardiac testing (Echocardiography, stress testing, ECG/EKG interpretation and other diagnostic studies)
Manage coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, hypertension and valvular heart disease
Provide inpatient and outpatient cardiology consultations
Collaborate with primary care physicians, hospitalists and other specialists
Participate in multidisciplinary patient-care planning
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and meet quality standards
Teaching cardiology fellows
Participating in clinical education and case-based learning
Supervising and mentoring residents and medical students
Participating in conferences and educational activities
Contributing to the continued development of the cardiology training program
