About The Position

The Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF) is seeking a Non-Formal Education Assistant to support the WILD Futures program, focusing on youth engagement in green jobs. This program aims to inform youth about conservation career opportunities and the broader green sector. The role involves research, program development, content creation, event support, and administrative tasks related to the program's various facets.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a post-secondary degree in Education, Communications, Environmental Science, or a related field of study.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research, review, and editing skills.
  • Experience with data management.
  • Independent self-starter.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Organized.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective time management.
  • Proficient in standard business software (e.g., MS Office, Databases, etc.).
  • Interest in environmental education.
  • Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment.
  • Must have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada.

  • French language proficiency is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Researching green jobs information, including sector details, resources, contacts, post-secondary information, job centers, job boards, guidance counselor lists, potential partners, job fair lists, and green jobs conferences.
  • Developing Green Jobs/Wild Futures information packages for Guidance Counselors and career centers.
  • Planning and developing potential Wild Futures webinars.
  • Supporting the development of Wild Futures content and sessions for virtual conferences.
  • Developing and curating content for Wild Futures communications.
  • Supporting the delivery and follow-up for virtual and in-person events and workshops, including tracking registration, sending information to participants, processing event data and forms, and sending follow-up emails.
  • Providing logistical support for Wild Futures program activities, such as scheduling, venue coordination, and resource management.
  • Responding to Wild Futures program inquiries in a timely fashion with excellent customer service.
  • Setting up and liaising with guest speakers and presenters for the Wild Futures virtual conference regarding event logistics (scheduling, tech support, etc.).
  • Collaborating with the Marketing and Communications department to ensure Wild Futures program webpages are up to date.
  • Assisting with data management for the Wild Futures program using Microsoft Excel, SurveyMonkey, Eventbrite, and other digital platforms.
  • Performing other assigned tasks.
