Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Passenger Assistance Safety and Sensitivity (PASS) training or Area Agency on Aging DRIVE training (provided in orientation)
  • Computer skills sufficient to properly document services and care
  • Ability to drive during daytime, nighttime or inclement weather.
  • Valid Driver's License with Safe Driving Record
  • State Minimum Automobile Insurance Coverage
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
  • Must be able to pass a 10 panel drug screen

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and maintain a medical transportation vehicle in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Provide professional, respectful, and compassionate transportation services to Ohio’s Hospice patients.
  • Assist patients as needed while prioritizing their safety, comfort, and dignity.
  • Complete transportation logs, documentation, and reports accurately and on time.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and assist with activities across departments as needed to support comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities that promote and strengthen the quality of Ohio’s Hospice services.
  • Support the onboarding and development of new team members by serving as a preceptor when requested.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with patients, families, caregivers, and coworkers.
