The Manufacturing Engineering organization within the Asheville, NC site is seeking a motivated, senior-level Non Conventional Machining Engineer, to help develop and drive continuous improvements in all aspects of the Cooling Hole Production. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering technical field or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience. OR an Advanced Engineering degree with 5+ Years of related experience.
  • Experience managing capital equipment projects
  • Experience managing new part and process implementations
  • Experience with nonconventional machining process development
  • 6 sigma Green Belt
  • Hands on manufacturing know-how and advanced problem-solving skills are a must for this position.
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management, shop personnel and customers.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Cooling hole production experience
  • 6+ years of experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Broad knowledge of the Aerospace Industry and experience in Turbine Engine parts manufacturing.
  • Experience with Minitab, Power BI, Ignition & Python
  • Experience leveraging generative AI assistants as a force multiplier
  • 6 sigma Black Belt
  • Experience in using UG/NX, and Team Center software suites

Responsibilities

  • Own all technical aspects of the assigned manufacturing area.
  • Coordinate with machine tool builders on technical requirements.
  • Work with vendors on durable and perishable tool design.
  • Own the result.
  • Write part specific CNC programs when needed.
  • Support production implementation.
  • Develop detailed work instructions for processes within designated area.
  • Participate in PPAP/MRL activities related to assigned manufacturing area.
  • Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and support improvements in cell layouts.
