Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED), and related education, training, or experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to obtain ISA Certified Arborist certification (or an equivalent industry-recognized certification approved by Paxon) within one year of employment.
  • Strong organizational/time management skills
  • Excellent communication both verbal and written with attention to detail
  • Must be proficient in using technology including cell phone, tablet, apps, GPS, Microsoft Office Suite, and range finders
  • Willingness to travel, work overtime, extended hours, and weekends as business needs require
  • Ability to read and follow maps
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, traverse rugged terrain, and stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to respond to public concerns and questions
  • Ability to respond and answer Contractor’s questions and concerns about work specifications and requirements
  • Pro-actively promote safety and maintain a safe work environment

Nice To Haves

  • ISA Utility Specialist Certified
  • One to two years of experience in arboriculture, forestry, vegetation management, horticulture, nursery operations, landscaping, or a related field
  • Possession of TRAQ Certification or in progress
  • Forestry Degree
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED Card

Responsibilities

  • Ensure SAFETY protocols are followed at all times
  • Perform tree inspections in system of record
  • Follow SCE scope of work
  • Communicate and abide by all SCE/Paxon protocols
  • Identify, document, and immediately report hazardous trees to the appropriate parties
  • Overall tree health review/assessment
  • Basic measurements pertaining to vegetation and powerline distance relationships
  • Provide recommendations on tree management
  • Collaborate with operational leaders
  • Operate as a liaison between tree crew, client, and customer
  • Produces accurate, timely, and high-quality work
  • Manage and coordinate daily vegetation operations
  • Capture clear, accurate, and detailed photographs to document tree conditions and work performed
  • Identify and mitigate potential threats and constraints to vegetation management
  • Submit details and information to vegetation management leaders as needed
  • Maintain accurate project and vegetation management data
  • Daily unit tracking
  • Perform all other applicable duties to meet project deadlines and goals
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
