About The Position

US Foods is seeking Recovery Express Drivers to join their team. This role is crucial for delivering a wide range of products to customers, including meats, produce, frozen goods, groceries, dry goods, equipment, and supplies. Drivers are the face of the company and play a key role in US Foods' success, upholding cultural beliefs, work ethic, collaborative spirit, and service. The position involves Tuesday through Saturday workdays, starting at 7 AM until finished. The pay rate is $25.85 per hour. Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have valid U.S. driver's license issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.
  • No more than two convictions in the past two-year period for traffic violations, no DUI convictions in the past three years, and no driver’s license suspensions in the past three years.
  • Must be able to pass non DOT physical.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • No commercial or professional driving experience required.
  • One year of multi-stop delivery experience is preferred or six months local delivery experience and/or foodservice industry experience.
  • Hand cart delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and up to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Load and unload the vehicle for multi-stop deliveries.
  • Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles.
  • Use hand truck to move product from the delivery vehicle into the customer location including going up and down stairs with product as necessary.
  • Accurately record delivery information including operating a hand scanner and all company required documentation.
  • Responsible for the proper documentation and disposition for any return product.
  • Communicate delivery- customer issues to proper authority (i.e., Customer Service, Territory Manager, Transportation Supervisor, etc.).
  • Deliver product to each of the designated stops following the stop sequence provided for the day.
  • Unload product safely and stage product in the space(s) designated by the customer.
  • Check invoice for complete delivery.
  • Process paperwork and damaged merchandise if any.
  • Collect payments if necessary.
  • Monitor refrigeration system on the delivery vehicle on a consistent basis for safety; follow all safe food handling procedures.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections such as monitoring fluid levels, tires, windshield wash and replenishing fuel.
  • Deliver best-in-class Customer Service.
  • Deliver customers’ orders to meet scheduled delivery times and keep productivity.
  • Unload products with a hand truck and place items in the customer storage area.
  • Make frequent stops during a work shift.
  • Deliver product in inclement weather conditions.
  • Verify delivery of items with customers.
  • Collect money (cash or checks) where needed.
