About The Position
CTDI is seeking a Non-CDL Truck Driver (also known as Box Truck Driver, Local Delivery Driver, or Straight Truck Driver) to drive a small truck to transport cargo to and from destinations within the immediate local area. This is a local position with home daily and overtime available. The role involves inspecting the truck, completing logs, securing cargo, and providing excellent customer service while adhering to DOT regulations.
Requirements
- 1+ years recent commercial delivery-driving experience or willing to complete a company driving training program
- Valid state-issued driver’s license, with a clean driving record.
- Capacity to demonstrate reliability, adaptability, and dependability.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Thoroughness and attention to detail in task completion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Possession of a valid DOT Medical Card, or ability to obtain one within ten (10) days of hire.
- Possession of a valid and legally compliant driver’s license for the state in which you reside, or ability to obtain one.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation a plus
- Strong commitment to customer service
Responsibilities
- Inspects the truck pre- and post-trip.
- Accurately complete vehicle inspection sheets, fuel consumption logs, daily log sheets, bills of lading, vehicle trip records, and expense reports.
- Ensures all cargo is loaded, checked, and safely secured during transit.
- Assists with or oversees loading and unloading of cargo to ensure secure transit.
- Acquires all proper signatures on shipping/receiving documents.
- Monitors the maintenance and repair of the truck.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally and representing the company positively.
- Responsible for following all Federal and State DOT regulations as well as warehouse safety regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
