About The Position

CTDI is seeking a Non-CDL Truck Driver (also known as Box Truck Driver, Local Delivery Driver, or Straight Truck Driver) to transport cargo to and from destinations within the immediate local area. This is a local position with home daily and overtime available. The driver will operate a small truck and is responsible for ensuring cargo is loaded, checked, and safely secured during transit. The role also involves accurate record-keeping, monitoring truck maintenance, and providing excellent customer service while adhering to all Federal and State DOT regulations and warehouse safety regulations.

Requirements

  • 1+ years recent commercial delivery-driving experience or willing to complete a company driving training program
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license, with a clean driving record.
  • Capacity to demonstrate reliability, adaptability, and dependability.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail in task completion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Possession of a valid DOT Medical Card, or ability to obtain one within ten (10) days of hire.
  • Possession of a valid and legally compliant driver’s license for the state in which you reside, or ability to obtain such a license.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation a plus
  • Strong commitment to customer service

Responsibilities

  • Inspects the truck pre- and post-trip.
  • Accurately complete vehicle inspection sheets, fuel consumption logs, daily log sheets, bills of lading, vehicle trip records, and expense reports.
  • Ensures all cargo is loaded, checked, and safely secured during transit.
  • Assists with or oversees loading and unloading of cargo to ensure secure transit.
  • Acquires all proper signatures on shipping/receiving documents.
  • Monitors the maintenance and repair of the truck.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally and representing the company positively.
  • Responsible for following all Federal and State DOT regulations as well as warehouse safety regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
