About The Position

Founded in 2002, Myrtle Beach Building Supply operates two locations, situated in Murrells Inlet and Little River, S.C., distributing a wide range of products to custom home builders and professional remodelers, including roofing, siding, windows, doors, hardware, fasteners and trusses. This position is not a CDL driver but may require some certification depending on State law. Typically delivers raw materials to customer.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
1-3 years of experience driving trucks required
Ability to do basic math, read orders, writes instructions and complete forms
Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills
Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems
Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques
Maintain current operator’s license and meet company driver qualification requirements
Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g. Smartphone, GPS and other necessary business applications)
DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State required

Nice To Haves

Lumber dumping experience preferred

Responsibilities

Delivers materials to job site
Inspects and maintains truck
Reports shortages and claims to supervisor
Assists in loading and storing of materials
Operate safely
Participate in a positive work environment
Check orders for accuracy
Organize and secure load
Obtain approval on all loads from supervisor for proper count and conditions of load
Assist in maintaining good housekeeping in yard and warehouse
Deliver and unload materials to customer‘s satisfaction
Follow guidelines from supervisor
Complete daily equipment inspection
Record all merchandise that is returned by truck
Complete necessary paperwork such as delivery tickets and credit slips
Provide excellent customer service
Assist in unloading material returned for credit
Relay messages sent by customers while on job
Assist supervisor, other employees and other work areas, as assigned
Comply with all company policies and guidelines
Participate in and completes assigned trainings
May be subject to DOT and FMCSA jurisdictions and restrictions
Perform other duties as assigned
Comply with all policies and standards
