About The Position

US Foods is seeking a dedicated Non-CDL Driver to drive a company vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of up to 14,900 pounds and make multi-stop deliveries of foodservice products while providing a high level of customer service. Drivers start at $27.00 per hour during training and switch to component pay after training, which is based on factors such as stops, miles, and cases. Drivers may average $45.00 per hour after training. The expected base rate is between $27.00 and $45.00 per hour. Overtime compensation, retention bonuses, and component pay may also be available, as applicable. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, in Midlothian, Virginia. The role involves 100% touch freight, frequent multi-stop deliveries, working in inclement weather, and working in a multi-temperature environment as low as 0 degrees. The driver must meet the stated physical requirements and pass a DOT physical. FMCSA Clearinghouse registration is required for all drivers.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Valid U.S. driver’s license issued by the state of legal residence, with proper endorsements if required.
Must be able to read and communicate in English, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and enter information on reports and records.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
Must register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, pull, or lower 20 to 80+ pounds of product during each shift.
Ability to drive and work in inclement weather with frequent stops, and work in temperatures as low as 0 degrees.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
One year of multi-stop delivery experience, or six months of local delivery experience and/or foodservice industry experience preferred; commercial or professional driving experience is not required.
Hand cart delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Drive a company vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of up to 14,900 pounds and deliver products safely and on time.
Unload products efficiently using a two-wheeler, ramp, or by hand, and place them in designated storage areas.
Use a hand truck to move products into customer locations, including navigating stairs and varied delivery environments.
Verify deliveries with customers and obtain signatures.
Document and manage returned products.
Communicate delivery or customer issues to the appropriate personnel, including Customer Service and the supervisor.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Handle collections and payments when applicable.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
