About The Position

US Foods is seeking a Non-CDL Driver to drive a company vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of up to 14,900 pounds and make multi-stop deliveries of foodservice products. Drivers start at $27.00 per hour during training and switch to component pay after training, based on factors such as stops, miles, and cases. Drivers may average $45.00 per hour after training. The expected base rate is between $27.00 and $45.00 per hour. Overtime compensation, retention bonuses, and component pay may also be available, as applicable. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, in Midlothian, Virginia. The role involves 100% touch freight, frequent stops, delivery work in inclement weather, and working in temperatures as low as 0 degrees. Drivers may unload products using a two-wheeler, ramp, hand truck, or by hand, and place them in designated storage areas.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Valid U.S. driver’s license issued by the state of legal residence, with proper endorsements if required.
Must be able to read and communicate in English, hold conversations, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and enter information on reports and records.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
Must register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or lower 20 to 80+ pounds of product repetitively during each shift.
Ability to drive and work in inclement weather and work in a multi-temperature environment as low as 0 degrees.
Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, drive, climb or balance, stoop or squat, kneel or bend, reach above the shoulder, twist, and use manual dexterity; continuously grasp and manipulate objects.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
One year of multi-stop delivery experience, or six months of local delivery experience and/or foodservice industry experience preferred.
Hand cart delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Drive safely and deliver products to customers in a timely manner.
Unload products efficiently using a two-wheeler, ramp, or by hand, and place them in designated storage areas.
Use a hand truck to move products into customer locations, including navigating stairs and varied delivery environments.
Verify deliveries with customers and obtain signatures.
Document and manage returned products.
Communicate delivery or customer issues to appropriate personnel, including Customer Service and the supervisor.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Handle collections and payments when applicable.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
