About The Position

Jefferson Health is hiring Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine trained Nocturnists to join our expanding Hospital Medicine teams across the enterprise. This role involves overnight admissions and inpatient care, including evaluating and admitting patients from the ED, conducting night rounds, and managing care for previously admitted patients. The position also provides cross-coverage support to APPs and assists with ICU needs such as rapid responses and Code Blue events. Depending on the site, there are open and closed ICU models, and not all sites require procedures. An optional academic track allows for clinical supervision of residents and support for triage and admissions for teaching teams, with three nocturnists typically covering each night. Academic opportunities are available at select locations. Effective coordination with interdisciplinary teams (nursing, specialists, social work) and comprehensive transitions at shift change are essential. The role requires thorough charting of histories, physicals, daily notes, and plans of care, ensuring compliance and accurate comorbidity coding. Visa support is provided for H1-B visas and J-1 waivers. Part-time and Per Diem Nocturnist Opportunities are available dependent on location and needs.
