Nocturnist Physician | Coastal South Carolina Opportunity
About The Position
A well-established, nonprofit healthcare organization in the Bluffton, South Carolina area is actively seeking a full-time Nocturnist Physician to join its growing inpatient medicine team. 2026 Internal Medicine residents are encouraged to apply. This role involves providing comprehensive overnight inpatient medical care for hospitalized adult patients, managing admissions, cross-cover responsibilities, acute patient issues, and clinical decision-making during night shifts. The physician will collaborate closely with daytime hospitalists, specialists, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary care teams, delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care in a modern hospital setting. Utilization of an integrated EMR system for accurate documentation and working within a supportive nocturnal hospital medicine program are key aspects of this position. The schedule is designed to support work-life balance.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
- Eligible for South Carolina medical licensure
- Active or eligible DEA registration
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
- Comfortable managing inpatient medicine responsibilities independently overnight
