About The Position

Lovelace Medical Group is now hiring a Nocturnist Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Lovelace Westside Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program.
  • Current New Mexico NP/PA license or ability to obtain a NM License
  • Two (2) years of experience preferred with inpatient medicine and the ability to work independently with critical care patients.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
  • Epic EMR

Nice To Haves

  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification desired, but not required
  • Family Nurse Practitioners will be considered as well as new graduates

Responsibilities

  • Night shift 12 hour shift working 7 on 7 off, 7pm to 7am.
  • 3-5 admissions per shift plus consults, plus cross cover
  • Provide clinical care to patients in accordance to regulations to include but not limited to obtaining patient history, ordering labs, diagnostic studies, and arranging referrals.
  • Uphold excellent bedside manners and ability to create a great patient experience.
  • Explain medical procedures and plan of care to patients.
  • Responsible for in-patient care, rounding, admissions, discharges, and consults.
  • Assess patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations, obtaining, updating and studying medical histories.
  • Document patient care services by charting in-patient and department records in EPIC.
  • Attend departmental meetings and professional training sessions as requested.
  • Adhere and have knowledge of laws to internal medicine, including HIPPA.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and medical staff to coordinated care.
