About The Position

Lovelace Medical Group is seeking a Nocturnist FM Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Lovelace Westside Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This is a full-time position with a night shift schedule of 12 hours, working 7 on and 7 off, from 7 pm to 7 am. The role involves managing 3-5 admissions per shift, handling consults, and providing cross-coverage. Responsibilities include providing clinical care, obtaining patient history, ordering tests, arranging referrals, explaining procedures, and managing in-patient care including rounding, admissions, discharges, and consults. The position requires excellent bedside manners, effective communication with physicians and staff, and accurate documentation in EPIC EMR. Adherence to internal medicine laws and HIPAA is essential.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program.
  • Current New Mexico NP/PA license or ability to obtain a NM License
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
  • Epic EMR

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of experience preferred with family medicine and the ability to work independently with critical care patients.
  • Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner Certification desired, but not required
  • Open to new graduates

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care to patients in accordance to regulations to include but not limited to obtaining patient history, ordering labs, diagnostic studies, and arranging referrals.
  • Uphold excellent bedside manners and ability to create a great patient experience.
  • Explain medical procedures and plan of care to patients.
  • Responsible for in-patient care, rounding, admissions, discharges, and consults.
  • Assess patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations, obtaining, updating and studying medical histories.
  • Document patient care services by charting in-patient and department records in EPIC.
  • Attend departmental meetings and professional training sessions as requested.
  • Adhere and have knowledge of laws to internal medicine, including HIPPA.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and medical staff to coordinated care.
