As a NOC Technician II, you’ll serve as a central point of communication and action during incidents, partnering closely with Engineering and other teams to monitor systems, resolve issues, and maintain the performance of our nationwide network and IT infrastructure. This is an on-site position that will provide coverage for 3rd shift (10pm-6:30am) on Wednesday-Sunday.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Broadcast Engineering, Networking, or Information Technology.
  • 2–4 years of experience in a NOC, broadcast, network support, or hybrid technical environment.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting RF broadcast and IT infrastructure issues.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Kybio) and alarm escalation.
  • Strong documentation skills, able to contribute to process guides and job aids.
  • Ability to mentor entry-level technicians and provide guidance in troubleshooting.
  • Solid teamwork and communication skills across broadcast, IT, and field engineering.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple incidents and prioritize effectively.
  • A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality.
  • Need to be seen as a team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to complex or recurring RF alarms and outages, using deep system knowledge to identify root causes and implement long-term solutions.
  • Analyze telemetry trends and performance data across multiple transmitter sites to proactively detect degradation or abnormal behavior.
  • Coordinate corrective action plans with Field personnel, ensuring resolution timelines, testing protocols, and proper documentation are followed.
  • Proficiency in database script generation for all equipment and all rack configurations with proper logic for effective SNMP alarm management.
  • Support advanced troubleshooting of audio chain components, including signal flow analysis across encoders, processors, multiplexers, and satellite backhauls.
  • Contribute to RF system upgrades and rollouts, supporting configuration, validation, and remote commissioning of new broadcast equipment.
  • Train and mentor junior NOC Technicians in interpreting remote control data, handling RF alerts, and understanding FCC compliance requirements.
  • Resolve escalated network issues involving routing protocols, VLAN configurations, firewall policies, or cross-site connectivity problems.
  • Monitor and validate complex network relationships, including multicast configurations, VPN tunnels, and hybrid cloud infrastructure dependencies.
  • Participate in network maintenance windows, supporting firmware upgrades, config changes, or failover testing as part of the operations team.
  • Support integration between broadcast systems and IT infrastructure, such as IP-based audio transport, SNMP monitoring, or broadcast-over-IP platforms.
  • Lead investigation of intermittent or chronic IT service issues, working with cross-functional teams (IT, InfoSec, Broadcast Engineering) as needed.
  • Review and improve SOPs for alarm handling, troubleshooting procedures, and shift handoffs to increase team efficiency and consistency.
  • Identify systemic issues and recommend improvements to monitoring thresholds, alert routing, or preventative maintenance plans.
  • Act as lead technician on shift, coordinating team response to major incidents, validating troubleshooting steps, and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Manage escalations with external vendors, such as satellite service providers, remote connectivity carriers, or equipment manufacturers.
  • Oversee accuracy of log entries, work orders, and event tracking, ensuring completeness and compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
  • Perform root cause analysis and produce post-incident summaries that contribute to long-term operational improvements.
  • Create training documentation and job aids for new tools, procedures, or systems introduced to the environment.
  • Serve as a technical resource and escalation point for entry-level team members, providing informal leadership and mentoring support.
  • Participate in cross-team meetings, offering NOC perspectives on operational impacts, monitoring needs, or deployment readiness.
  • Demonstrate ownership of assigned systems or regions, proactively ensuring their health, uptime, and documentation accuracy.
  • Continue professional development in areas such as networking (e.g., CCNA-level topics), broadcast engineering, or cloud systems (e.g., AWS fundamentals).
