Requirements

  • Associate's Degree + 4 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience as approved by Human Resource Services.
  • Must have and maintain a valid unrestricted driver’s license.

  • Associate's degree plus 2 years relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree in related field (for Associate level underfill).

Responsibilities

  • Duties will include working with the petroleum industry to establish regulatory compliance.
  • Specific duties will include inspection activities of fuel quality sampling, small volume, large volume, and LPG meter inspections based out of Dona Ana County (Southwest New Mexico).
  • The NMDA Inspector, Inter. would gain knowledge of all petroleum inspections and regulations, develop relationships with industry, training and field reference materials.
  • The position will also work with other inspectors throughout the state to gain knowledge on all inspection procedures.
  • The NMDA Inspector, Inter. should address equipment needs, as they arise, to ensure a safe work environment for all area staff.
  • The NMDA Inspector, Inter. will assist with maintaining New Mexico’s presence by participation in weights and measures events.
  • The NMDA Inspector, Inter. will complete device inspections by maintaining an inspection area and other duties as assigned.
  • NMDA Inspector, Inter. needs to be well-versed in University and department policies and procedures.
  • The NMDA Inspector, Inter. should be skilled in short-term planning, report preparation, and managing their inspection area of responsibility.
