About The Position

The Night Shift Team Leader at Amcor plays a crucial role in leading by example and ensuring the smooth operation of the night shift. This position involves maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment, inspecting product quality, and coordinating with the Supervisor on any issues. The Team Leader is responsible for managing production supplies, performing various part handling tasks, and ensuring accurate documentation. They will also communicate production goals to the team, assist in training new associates, and ensure all packaging and labeling requirements are met for shipment. This role requires strong leadership, technical understanding, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production setting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, production environment.
  • Regularly required to stand, sit, or walk for long periods.
  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequent exposure to production floor; required use of PPE (Bump Cap, Safety Eyewear or Prescription Safety Eyewear, Safety Shoes, Hair/beard nets, Hearing Protection and Disposable Mask).
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, bend, and reach to perform necessary job functions.
  • Must be able to keep up with fast-paced production cycles.
  • Position requires agility and consistent attention to detail.
  • Must be able to identify alpha / numeric product codes.
  • Good communication skills--verbal and written; ability to effectively communicate.
  • Ability to work well independently or in a team environment.
  • Display ability to work and deliver results in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect product to ensure quality and set aside substandard product.
  • Work closely with Supervisor on quality issues or reject conditions.
  • Coordinate and give breaks to Packer/Handlers.
  • Responsible for maintaining production supplies (bags, gaskets, handles, labels, tray packs, TPI’s).
  • Perform part handling requirements including inspections, trimming, hot stamping, handle installation, gasket installation, and packing.
  • Inspect product, verify pull-apart, stack product onto tray packs, label and document finished product, and transfer from presses to staging for shrink wrap.
  • Notify Shift Supervisor or Quality Assurance of any safety, machinery, raw material, quality, preventive maintenance, emergency maintenance, packaging, or documentation concerns.
  • Document information correctly on production reports and downtime reports.
  • Work effectively as a team member and communicate immediate concerns to Shift Supervisor.
  • Ensure all reports or documentation are completed timely and properly.
  • Ensure proper packaging, labeling, stacking, banding, and wrapping of handles for shipment.
  • Communicate with Packer/Handlers regarding production goals to ensure timely shipments.
  • Help supply raw materials to Packer/Handlers.
  • Responsible for the removal of trash and recyclable goods.
  • Ensure all materials required for production are at each work-station when needed.
  • Exhibit leadership and management skills.
  • Assist in training of associates.
  • Responsible for quality inspection requirements on each machine.
  • Follow proper packaging procedures to ensure product is not damaged during shipping.
  • Responsible for proper labeling of product being packaged for shipment.
  • Be informed as to what production is expected of a handle machine to ensure production goals are met.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned.
