Requirements

  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
  • Ability to maintain regulatory record keeping including OSHA 300 Log, safety training records, KPI (Key Performance Indicators) and team action plans.
  • Ability to train employees, supervisors, and management in proper use of PPE, safety & health, accident prevention, and investigation.
  • Ability to observe workforce for safe behaviors and immediately correct deficiencies.
  • Ability to report work-related injuries or illnesses and provide follow-up information.
  • Ability to coordinate emergency services and follow-up care with local medical providers.
  • Ability to conduct employee certifications and renewals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist, plan and implement policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
  • Maintain regulatory record keeping including OSHA 300 Log, safety training records, KPI (Key Performance Indicators) and team action plans.
  • Work with all levels of staff to ensure the health and safety program and policies are understood and upheld as a priority and value.
  • Train all employees, supervisors and management in proper use of PPE; also safety & health, accident prevention and investigation training.
  • Assist line management by spending appropriate time on production floor to observe workforce for safe behaviors and immediately correct any deficiencies.
  • Timely report all work-related injuries or illnesses to Company’s worker’s compensation insurance administrator and provide follow-up information as necessary.
  • Work closely with local medical provider(s) to coordinate emergency services and follow-up care for injured or ill employees.
  • Conducts employee certifications and renewals.
