Job Title: Night Shift Refrigeration Maintenance Technician Days: Sunday - Wednesday (Four 12-Hour shifts) Hours: 4:45pm to 5am Pay Rate: $27 to $36 per hour. Job Description: Ammonia refrigeration technician, your responsibilities include the operation, inspection, and maintenance of ammonia refrigeration and freezer equipment, such as pumps, condensers, compressors evaporators, valves, purgers, hot room conveyors, and other utility system components. Service, repair and rebuild valves and pumps. Help perform major and minor repairs on Utility Equipment (Ammonia Refrigeration, HVAC, Air Compressors, Fire Retention Systems and Cooling Towers). Other responsibilities as required. An Ammonia Refrigeration Operator performs specific preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical repair, and other tasks and techniques to keep Ammonia refrigeration systems in operational conditions to meet production, refrigeration, storage, and shipping needs. Will have other tasks that include the upkeep and maintenance of the freezer, equipment, and building structure. Perform rounds - Periodic checks of the equipment and maintain system and understand operational parameters of the equipment. Understanding what steps to take if equipment is operating outside of set parameters.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have at least 2 years background in ammonia systems.
  • Must currently hold Ammonia Operator I or equivalent certification.
  • Must be safety oriented at all times.
  • Basic skills to maintain upkeep of building and support equipment.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understand the Frick computer management system.
  • Be able to run all types of forklift equipment.
  • Able to work at heights of up to 60’ indoors and 70’ on rooftop.
  • Detail oriented and able to work with team on other projects.
  • Knowledge of laws and safety of equipment.
  • Working with Voltages up to 480 volts 3 phase.
  • Understanding of chemical treatment program.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • In floor heating system.
  • Calibration of any/all equipment and instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical diagrams.
  • Need to be able to go to school and further their education in the Ammonia field.
  • Basic computer skill to be able to understand and use CMMS system.
  • Learn all the functions of our CMMS system.
  • Wear proper PPE at all times including teel toe or composite toe EH rated shoes.
  • Working in Freezer environment, you will be walking, standing, and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift items up to 50 lbs.
  • Due to a large variety of job duties (both routine and non-routine), certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing, working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy machinery.

  • Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical repair, and other tasks and techniques to keep Ammonia refrigeration systems in operational conditions to meet production, refrigeration, storage, and shipping needs.
  • Upkeep and maintenance of the freezer, equipment, and building structure.
  • Perform rounds - Periodic checks of the equipment and maintain system and understand operational parameters of the equipment.
  • Understanding what steps to take if equipment is operating outside of set parameters.
  • Communicates work order progress.
  • Cleanliness of Engine room and Maintenance shop.
  • Responsible housekeeping of any and all work areas during and following performed work.
  • Perform ammonia pump out safely.
  • Check oil levels in compressors and add if needed.
