About The Position

The Township is seeking applicants for four (4) full-time contract roles of Night Patrol, working for a period of 6-8 months beginning in November 2026. Reporting to the Supervisor, Operations – Transportation, the successful candidate will be responsible for patrolling municipal roads to identify and report winter conditions and hazards. This position will be based in the North or South yard depending on operational requirement.

Requirements

• Minimum of 18 years of age
• ‘DZ’ driver’s license (G Driver’s may be considered)
• Ability to work well in a team setting as well as on their own
• Ability to work nights and weekends on a rotational schedule of 6 days on and 3 days off, working from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am
• Criminal Record Check satisfactory to the Township
• Driver’s Abstract satisfactory to the Township

Responsibilities

• Reporting snow or ice accumulation, potholes, hazardous trees, and flooding in accordance with Minimum Maintenance Standards
• Initiating staff call-ins per Township procedures and documenting road deficiencies
• Reviewing and following up on work orders
• Performing emergency roadside tree removal
• Installing barricades for closures or detours
• Conducting light equipment maintenance
• Other duties as assigned
