Night Dispatch - After Hours
About The Position
Summit Logistics Group is seeking a highly motivated operations professional for their Night Dispatch role. This position is crucial for providing transportation solutions across North America within the freight industry. The company has been recognized as the #1 fastest-growing company in Wilmington and #190 fastest-growing companies in the U.S. This role involves supporting overnight and weekend dispatch operations, with an average of 36-40 hours per week. Shifts typically range from 8-12 hours, depending on operational needs and coverage requirements. Flexibility in scheduling may be possible for the right candidate, with potential for alternative evening or overnight shift arrangements.
Requirements
- 1+ years’ experience specifically with domestic freight brokerage preferred
- Excellent communication skills with both team members and customers.
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management software.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application.

Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient transportation of goods.
- Maintain constant communication with drivers to provide updates, address issues, and ensure compliance with schedules.
- Quickly and effectively address any challenges that may arise during transportation, such as delays, detours, or mechanical issues.
- Keep accurate records of shipments, including delivery times, delays, and any incidents that may occur.
- Work closely with other departments, sales, operations and customer service, to streamline operations.
- Provide timely and accurate communication to customers and carriers regarding shipment status, delays, and issues.
- Ensure that all transportation activities comply with Local, State, and Federal regulations.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
