About The Position

The purpose and objective of this position is to meet the Department and Company's goals of making safe and timely drop and hook deliveries of our demountable cargo boxes between our McDonough Facility and our Spoke Locations throughout the state of Georgia. This position will be required to support and assist with daytime task if and when needed. Normal work schedule is Monday through Thursday night. This normal schedule is only modified during Holidays and special events.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Class (A) CDL.
  • Ability to operate a stick shift tractor.
  • Ability to maintain DOT Medical Certification.
  • Ability to maintain a valid Georgia Driver's License.
  • Ability to work until assignment is completed (complying with hours of service regulations).
  • Minimum of 1 year continuous experience driving a tractor trailer (over the road or local).
  • Experience and knowledge of how to properly use electronic logging devices.
  • Ability to pass a background check (police backgrounds, reference checks).
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record: No more than two (2) moving violations and/or at-fault vehicle accidents (any combination) in the past three (3) years (for speeding, violations must be under 16mph).
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record: No more than one (1) speeding violation of 16-29mph OR at-fault accident in the past three (3) years.
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record: No major violations such as DUI/DWI, hit-and-run, reckless driving, and/or super speeder (29+mph) violation in the past five (5) years.
  • Driver's license must not have been suspended, revoked, or expired.

  • Flexibility as supporting day shift support may be needed at times.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver cargo boxes between the McDonough Facility and Spoke Locations throughout Georgia.
  • Support and assist with daytime tasks if and when needed.
  • Comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administrators hours of service regulation.
  • Report to work at scheduled time.
  • Communicate effectively with people at all levels in a professional manner.
  • Complete daily pre/post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Properly use electronic logging devices.
