About The Position

The Night Custodian at Renaissance Academy of Arts & Science High School is responsible for ensuring that existing facilities are kept clean, safe, and well-maintained. This role involves a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks for both interior and exterior areas of the school, as well as assisting with special projects and preventative maintenance.

Requirements

Minimum high school graduate.
A minimum of 1 year of janitorial trade experience.
Must possess the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Continuing education in construction or facilities related fields.

Responsibilities

Clean assigned interior areas including hallways, restrooms, offices, classrooms, and the multi-purpose room.
Clean assigned exterior areas including the school building perimeter, parking lot, playground, and windows.
Empty trash from all trash receptacles.
Dust furniture, fixtures, equipment, window sills, and air vents.
Clean and sterilize restroom facilities.
Clean up bodily messes (vomit, feces, urine, blood) in accordance with training.
Remove waste from the cafeteria after breakfast and lunch.
Assist with cleaning cafeteria tables.
Maintain acceptable cleanliness levels for cafeteria floors.
Sterilize high-use areas to reduce the spread of bacteria and harmful agents.
Assist the Head Custodian with cleaning projects and tasks.
Assist with the creation and implementation of building preventative maintenance processes and monitoring systems.
Travel may be required to nearby schools or warehouse/storage.
Participate in training programs to enhance skills and proficiency.
Review current developments and janitorial information related to job responsibilities.
Ensure adherence to OSHA and maximum safety procedures.
Perform other duties as delegated by the Supervisor.
Follow federal and state laws, as well as company policies.
Carry a hand-held radio at all times while on school property if assigned by the Supervisor.
Remain on school property from the beginning to the end of the workday, including lunch.
Report and assist with all emergency situations as needed.
Obtain permission from the Facilities Supervisor before leaving campus for any errands.
