About The Position
Drive intermodal containers on rail-rented chassis in the Avenel and New Jersey area. Freight handling is no-touch and includes live loads, live unloads, preloads, and drop-and-hook work. Drivers do not load, count, or strap freight. The position starts at 3:00 p.m. or later and is home daily. Average weekly pay is $1,300–$1,500, approximately $67,600–$78,000 annually, with steady weekly miles, short-haul pay for shorter runs, and weekly pay.
Requirements
- Hold a valid Class A CDL.
- Have either 6 months of OTR experience after training within the last 12 months, or 12 months of OTR experience within the past 5 years.
- Be comfortable completing a urine and hair follicle drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Drive intermodal containers on rail-rented chassis.
- Complete live loads, live unloads, preloads, and drop-and-hook work.
- Work a schedule of either Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday, depending on the opening.
- Be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Return home daily.
