About The Position

The Night Chaplain (Registry) will work per diem, Sunday - Saturday, with specific on-site and on-call hours. This role is based at UW Health Swedish American Hospital. The position involves providing spiritual care and support within a hospital setting during evening and night shifts.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Religious Studies, Pastoral Counseling, or a related field of ministry from a school accredited by a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
2 years of pastoral ministry experience including hospital visitation.

Nice To Haves

One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
Endorsement or appropriate recognition of ministry by the governing body of the Chaplain’s denomination/faith group.
At least one unit of hospital based Clinical Pastoral Education or its equivalent.
Membership (or eligibility for membership in) the Association of Professional Chaplains or the National Association of Catholic Chaplains.
APC Board Certification.

Responsibilities

Provide spiritual care and support to patients, families, and staff during evening and night shifts.
Respond to spiritual and emotional needs within the hospital environment.
Offer comfort, counsel, and crisis intervention as needed.
