About The Position

The Night Auditor will maintain the professional financial standards of the hotel by managing end-of-day reports, ensuring accuracy, and reporting anomalies. The Night Auditor must ensure the maintenance of professional financial standards throughout the hotel, undertake a review of end-of-day takings against logged reports, and edit all reports to ensure accuracy and full completion.

Requirements

  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment
  • Must be flexible in hours and days worked
  • Understand and use math concepts in order to design a financial or economic system

Nice To Haves

  • Accounting background preferred, but not required
  • Previous Night Audit experience preferred, but not required
  • Associate Degree in Hospitality Management, Finance, Accounting or related major preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all hotel guests, making their stay as comfortable and accommodating as possible while achieving team goals and hotel values
  • Remain highly visible and readily available for guests at all times
  • May be required to make management decisions as acting Manager on Duty
  • Audit, balance, post and report on front desk, rooms, and all food and beverage outlets' cash and credit operations
  • Prepare daily Restaurant Revenue Report data by auditing Micros tapes/journals to breakdown revenue, covers, waiters’ fees, tips paid out and settlements by type and cashier
  • Manage daily reports including occupancy report, guest list, cash drawer summary, balance sheet, account summary, history file, and housekeeping report
  • Reconciling daily activity and closing all accounts in preparation for the new business day
  • Reset all registers to ensure accurate, timely function and optimal operations management
  • Handle confidential information, including guest records, with a high degree of integrity
  • Address guest complaints, issues and/or requests in friendly and professional manner taking
  • Ensure that all matters are resolved or addressed with the proper department head
  • Report to management about asset utilization and audit results, and recommend changes in operations and financial activities
  • Identify the causes of out-of-balance situations in a timely manner
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of all services and facilities of the hotel, as well as the local area, and effectively assists guests.
  • Effectively utilize excel, workbooks, and access to submit reports to corporate office as appropriate
  • Receive and process telephone and walk-in reservations accurately ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Attend and participate in all front office meetings, attend required training programs
  • Understands and applies all hotel safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for associates and guests
