About The Position

The Night Auditor is responsible for the day-to-day night operation of the property, including front desk operations, and financial reconciliation and reporting. This role ensures that all front office activities and services meet or exceed established standards and goals, while maintaining the confidentiality of guest information and hotel data. The Night Auditor assists guests, team members, and vendors during their shift, and is crucial in maintaining a safe and secure environment for everyone on property. They are expected to report security concerns and problematic situations immediately to the General Manager or appropriate party, and to respond to and resolve guest issues and concerns as necessary. Additionally, this role involves evaluating patterns or trends in guest concerns to plan and implement corrective actions, and providing regular communication with all departments to keep staff informed of updates, changes, and problematic situations. The Night Auditor also ensures the cleanliness and organization of the front office, reception area, lobby, and storage areas, and that all equipment is properly maintained, functioning, and used only as intended. Regular property walks are conducted to monitor guest safety and security.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year hospitality experience required
  • Previous experience in cash handling and computerized Point of Sale system strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to understand and apply labor and industry-specific laws and regulations.
  • Must have a valid driver license.
  • Must possess basic negotiation skills and strong customer relations skills.
  • Strong computer skills: Full knowledge of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Outlook, Excel and Word.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 year hotel/clerk experience strongly preferred.

  • Ensure confidentiality of all guest information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Assist guests, team members, and vendors during their shift.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and team members.
  • Report security concerns and problematic situations immediately to the General Manager or appropriate party.
  • Respond and work to resolve guest issues and concerns as necessary.
  • Evaluate patterns or trends in guest concerns in order to plan and implement corrective actions.

  • Ensure front office, reception area, lobby and storage areas are clean and organized.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and functioning.
  • Ensure all equipment is used only as intended.
  • Complete property walks routinely to monitor guest safety and security.
  • Ability to park and retrieve guest vehicles.
  • Ability to secure property by walking up and down halls to make sure appropriate doors are securely locked.
