About The Position

The PHO - Night Auditor plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of a hotel's financial records during overnight hours. This position is responsible for auditing daily financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing detailed reports that support management decision-making. The Night Auditor also provides exceptional guest service during the night shift, handling check-ins, check-outs, and guest inquiries with professionalism and efficiency. By maintaining a secure and organized front desk environment, the Night Auditor helps uphold the hotel's reputation for quality and reliability. Ultimately, this role ensures seamless operational continuity between day and night shifts, contributing to overall guest satisfaction and financial accuracy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reconciliation.
  • Proficiency with property management systems (PMS) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently during overnight hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in hotel front desk operations or accounting is preferred.
  • Associate degree or higher in hospitality management, accounting, or related field.
  • Experience with specific hotel management software such as Opera or Maestro.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with cash handling and security procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nightly audits of all hotel financial transactions, including room charges, payments, and adjustments, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconcile daily revenue reports and prepare detailed audit reports for management review.
  • Manage front desk operations during the night shift, including guest check-ins, check-outs, and responding to guest requests or concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions and ensure compliance with hotel policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and support smooth operational transitions between shifts.
