The Night Auditor is responsible for preparing daily revenue reports by auditing Micros tapes and journals to break down revenue, covers, waiters' fees, tips paid out, and settlements by type and cashier. This role involves running audit reports and journals from all credit card and computer systems, inputting revenue, expenses, and allowances to generate daily reports, and balancing all revenue and settlement accounts nightly. The Night Auditor also maintains files, resets the system for the next day's operations, makes corrections and adjustments, handles computer issues, ensures proper distribution and filing of documentation and reports, reviews and corrects discrepancies in the Front Desk System, and coordinates with the front desk and restaurant/bar closing for a smooth operation. The position requires effective communication with guests, vendors, and associates, adherence to safety and health standards, and the ability to assist with statistical reports and presentations. Additionally, the Night Auditor may perform duties of a front desk supervisor, guest service agent, reservations agent, and telephone operator as needed, ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to all StepStone and hotel policies and procedures. Attendance at required hotel meetings is also expected.
