Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to operate personal computer, cash register, and calculator.
  • Ability to compile facts and figures.
  • Telephone and guest relations etiquette and skills.
  • Moderate hearing required to communicate with guests.
  • Excellent vision required for viewing of CRT screen.
  • Excellent speech communication skills required to communicate with guests over the telephone.
  • Excellent comprehension and literacy required for reading daily reports, numbers, etc.

  • Accounting background preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Audit, balance, and report on various hotel areas including food and beverage outlets, rooms/front desk, and gift shop to provide accurate information, ensure policy adherence, and prevent fraud.
  • Respond professionally and courteously to guests regarding inquiries, reservations, hotel information, and concerns.
  • Audit, balance, and report on all food and beverage outlets' cash and credit operations, including checks, over/short figures, deposits, counts, and postings.
  • Audit, balance, post, and report on front desk operations, including room charges, phone calls, zero balance folios, corrections, adjustments, taxes, and disputed charges.
  • Audit, balance, and prepare/verify Room information reports for management.
  • Prepare and input statistics and income journal sheets for daily reports.
  • Balance and close all bank ticket codes daily.
  • Run night audit final after ensuring all revenues are in balance nightly.
  • Greet and process check-in procedures for arriving guests using manual and computerized methods.
  • Facilitate guest departure (check-out) by following established procedures to close guest accounts.
  • Maintain good customer relations by staying informed about in-house and area functions to answer guest questions.
  • Operate PBX equipment for incoming/outgoing calls, wake-up calls, and paging guests.
  • Perform duties of a Front Desk Clerk, including express checkouts.
