About The Position

The Night Audit Supervisor is responsible for independently managing overnight hotel operations, completing the daily night audit, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing exceptional guest service. This position serves as the primary overnight point of contact and ensures the hotel remains secure, organized, and operational throughout the night.

Requirements

  • Previous hotel Front Desk or Night Audit experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations and night audit procedures.
  • Excellent customer-service and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with financial transactions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and unexpected situations during overnight hours.
  • Computer and hotel property-management system experience preferred.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform the nightly hotel audit and reconcile daily room revenue, payments, taxes, adjustments, and financial transactions.
  • Review and verify occupancy, room rates, guest accounts, cashier activity, and daily revenue reports for accuracy.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies involving guest folios, payments, room charges, and accounting records.
  • Handle overnight front-desk operations, including check-ins, check-outs, reservations, room assignments, and guest requests.
  • Provide professional and courteous service to guests while addressing complaints, special requests, and concerns throughout the night.
  • Serve as the primary overnight contact for guests and respond appropriately to emergencies and unexpected situations.
  • Monitor hotel security and safety during overnight hours and follow established emergency procedures.
  • Maintain accurate cash handling and ensure all front-desk transactions are properly balanced and recorded.
  • Prepare daily night audit, occupancy, revenue, and operational reports for management.
  • Review arrivals, departures, VIP guests, room status, special requests, and other important information to ensure a smooth transition to the morning shift.
  • Communicate important guest concerns, maintenance issues, incidents, and outstanding operational matters to management and the incoming shift.
  • Coordinate with other hotel departments or on-call management when assistance is required.
  • Maintain accurate overnight logs, reports, and documentation.
  • Ensure hotel policies, procedures, and service standards are followed during the overnight shift.
  • Exercise sound judgment and make appropriate operational decisions independently when management is not physically present.
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information, financial records, and hotel business.
  • Assist with general front-office and hotel duties as needed to support smooth overnight operations.
