NICU Monitor Tech
About The Position
This position has a basic working knowledge of all unit functions and is responsible for performing clerical duties and maintaining and organizing all necessary equipment and supplies. The NICU Monitor Tech coordinates with nursing staff regarding each telemetry patient's assigned telemetry and admits/discharges patients on the telemetry monitor. They notify the RN about heart rate and rhythm when patients are off telemetry and/or pulse oximetry. The role also involves keeping current and updated information on telemetry logs and adjusting telemetry monitor screens when notified by the RN. Additional duties may include scheduling appointments, charging, compiling and copying medical charts, reports, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Able to communicate and work with a wide variety of staff, patients and families
- Exhibits valuable time management skills
- Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills
- Basic computer skills
- Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
Nice To Haves
- Previous Nurse Assistant experience
- BLS within 90 Days of hire
