About The Position

FiberTel, LLC is hiring an NGAN Ops Manager for its San Jose, California location. The manager oversees daily operational execution for NGAN and node upgrade programs, ensuring project schedules, budgets, quality requirements, and customer expectations are met. The role provides operational leadership across engineering, permitting, walkout, construction, and project management teams; manages client relationships; and drives performance throughout network deployment. The position involves coordinating with customers, municipalities, utilities, and regulatory agencies; directing field resources and subcontractors; monitoring financial performance and operational metrics; and addressing risks that could affect schedules or quality. The manager also develops teams, communicates project status to executive leadership and clients, and supports planning, resource forecasting, and strategic growth initiatives. Additional duties and special projects may be assigned. The anticipated compensation is USD $80,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Applicants must pass company drug testing, submit to a background check, and follow applicable safety requirements and training.

Requirements

At least 7 years of experience in telecommunications, utility construction, broadband deployment, or infrastructure operations.
At least 3 years of leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
Strong understanding of engineering, permitting, construction, and project delivery processes in telecommunications environments.
Experience managing project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and performance metrics.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel within assigned markets as needed.
Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
Excellent project and program management skills.
Thorough understanding of the telecommunications construction and deployment lifecycle.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent client relationship management skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
Knowledge of permitting requirements, municipal processes, and utility coordination.
Strong financial acumen, including experience managing operational budgets and project profitability.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, and reporting platforms.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Must pass company drug testing and submit to a background check.
Must adhere to applicable OSHA and state and local safety requirements and company-provided training.

Nice To Haves

Experience managing node upgrades, HFC network upgrades, FTTH deployments, NGAN programs, or similar telecommunications infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Lead execution of NGAN and node upgrade programs across assigned markets.
Provide operational leadership for engineering, permitting, walkout, construction, and project management teams.
Develop and implement project execution strategies to meet customer, quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers on project planning, forecasting, and delivery.
Manage permitting activities and coordinate with municipalities, utilities, and regulatory agencies to obtain required approvals.
Oversee field walkouts and site validation to ensure constructability and engineering accuracy.
Direct construction operations and field resources to safely execute network infrastructure upgrades.
Monitor project financial performance, labor utilization, production metrics, and operational KPIs.
Ensure compliance with company safety standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations.
Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain schedules and quality standards.
Manage subcontractors, vendors, and internal resources to optimize performance and productivity.
Build, mentor, and develop teams while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
Facilitate project reviews and communicate progress, challenges, and solutions to executive leadership and clients.
Support business development through project planning, resource forecasting, and strategic growth initiatives.
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
