About The Position
ABC7 KGO-TV, the Bay Area's news leader, is seeking a creative newscast producer. This role involves producing dynamic newscasts with story showcasing and multiple live elements. Responsibilities include story development with reporters, non-linear desktop editing, booking live guests, writing stories and teases, timing, and other editorial and production elements. The producer will write stories for their programs on the linear TV platform, contribute story ideas daily, and actively participate in coverage decisions and editorial meetings. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and team player who can collaborate effectively to create compelling content across all platforms. Experience with social media for newsgathering and leveraging these platforms for stories and segments is desired. The candidate must be organized and work well under pressure with constant deadlines. A medium to major market producer experience is required. This posting is for future consideration as the role is not open at this time.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience line producing at a local news station
- Proven track record working under high-pressure situations with tight deadlines.
- Diligent with strong editorial and production skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be flexible with working hours (late nights, overnights, holidays) and adaptable to change, especially during breaking news situations
- Medium to major market producer experience
- Excellent writing skills
