About The Position

WCSH-TV in Portland, Maine is seeking a Video Editor to edit and produce engaging, impactful video on deadline for broadcast, streaming, online, and social media platforms. The role calls for a self-starter with strong brand management skills who can maintain quality on tight schedules, including during breaking news coverage. The editor uses editing and photography tools to create content for newscasts, streaming, and digital platforms and works closely with producers, reporters, photojournalists, and the digital team. The schedule requires flexibility to work early mornings, nights, and weekends.

Requirements

• Clear focus and a calm demeanor during fast-paced breaking news coverage.
• Knowledge of CUEZ.
• Knowledge of nonlinear editing systems, including Edius, DaVinci, Premiere, and Photoshop.
• Strong interest in broadcast and digital news content.
• Organizational skills and ability to work under deadline pressure.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Deadline-oriented approach and ability to maintain quality while working on tight schedules.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, nights, and weekends.
• Self-starter with strong brand management skills.

• BA/BS degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use editing and photography tools to create content for newscast, streaming, and digital platforms.
• Edit and produce video for broadcast, stream, online, and social media on deadline.
• Work closely with newscast producers, reporters, photojournalists, and the digital team.
