About The Position
WDTV is looking for a full-time producer. The ideal candidate will be able to make the newscast unique & memorable by preparing & organizing the available content. We want someone who can thrive in a fast-paced work environment. This person must be an excellent writer, possess strong leadership & organizational skills, and be able to perform well under pressure. The ideal candidate develops & enterprises stories daily and communicates well with co-workers & the community. The candidate will also be required to post stories to our station's website. The ideal candidate must be a team player.
Requirements
- High level of production knowledge & experience.
- Extreme attention to detail & solid news judgement.
- Knowledge of various news-gathering tools & libel laws.
- Understanding of the importance of writing crisp teases to promote upcoming news broadcasts & stories.
- Ability to create electronic graphics in a professional and timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Manage the TV news broadcast, coordinate with the production team & oversee the order of the news broadcast.
- Work with the news team to decide on what stories to produce & report.
- Work closely with news anchors to produce & execute clear information and news stories to the viewer.
- Contribute story ideas & content daily.
- Assist other producers & communicate well with them.
- Quickly recognize & organize stories for the upcoming news broadcast.
- Review, edit & approve stories for broadcast submitted by reporters with speed & accuracy.
- Post stories to our station's website.
