The producer is responsible for taking the show into the control room and timing it to include commercial breaks. This role requires a producer to be enterprising, self-motivated, and able to work independently to develop newscasts or assigned productions. A thorough understanding of all journalistic standards and broadcast production techniques is necessary to create visual and compelling on-air and online content. Strong writing and communication skills are essential.
