About The Position
WSBT is seeking interns who are preparing for a career in news. The internship offers experience in a fast-moving newsroom, working with reporters, anchors, producers, editors, and photographers both in-house and in the field. Interns receive training in producing a news segment from the control room, researching and pitching stories, and operating camera equipment and selecting effective shots. Class credit verification forms will be provided.
Requirements
- Must be attending an accredited college or university and eligible to receive college credit for the internship.
- Willingness to work approximately 15 hours per week for 10 weeks; hours may vary with news programming schedules.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to work at the Mishawaka, Indiana location.
Responsibilities
- Work with reporters, anchors, producers, editors, and photographers in-house and in the field.
- Learn to produce a news segment from the control room.
- Research and pitch story ideas.
- Learn to operate camera equipment and identify important shots.
