NEWS DIRECTOR - KTIV
About The Position
KTIV, Siouxland's News Channel, is seeking a News Director to lead its award-winning team. This role requires a leader and coach who understands 'Digital First' and can bring fresh ideas. The News Director will directly oversee all aspects of news gathering and distribution, directing content development, evaluating editorial potential, and making decisions on dissemination across platforms. This position sets the tone for the team, cares for team members, and collaborates with department managers to find inventive solutions. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong working knowledge of community issues and needs, sound journalistic principles, and the ability to make fast, accurate journalistic and logistical judgments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field or equivalent experience
- Strong management, communication, and people skills required to supervise and interact daily with staff and the community
- Knowledge and understanding of using various digital and social platforms
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in high-stress situations
