About The Position
KTIV, Siouxland's News Channel, is seeking an experienced leader and coach to become its next News Director. This role involves overseeing all aspects of news gathering and distribution, directing content development, and making decisions on dissemination across various platforms. The News Director will set the tone for the news team, foster a positive environment, and work with department managers to find innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of community issues, sound journalistic principles, and the ability to make quick, accurate judgments. This position requires a 'Digital First' mindset and the ability to bring fresh ideas to an award-winning team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field or equivalent experience
- Strong management, communication, and people skills required to supervise and interact daily with staff and the community
- Knowledge and understanding of using various digital and social platforms
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in high-stress situations
