About The Position

Responsible for testing all well babies and NICU babies for the infant hearing screen program per department/State guidelines under the guidance and direction of the licensed Audiologist. Supports and assists the Audiologist with scheduling, implementing, and conducting of all tests and procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in a related field Required or Vocational/Technical Degree in a related field Required
  • 1 years Patient / Health Care experience. Preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree In a related field Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform hearing screens and general duties; assist Audiologist with patient care, maintaining equipment and facilities.
  • Test for infant hearing screens on all well newborns and NICU babies after competency is obtained.
  • Execute treatment programs under supervision of Audiologist.
  • Coordinate programs with other disciplines.
  • Prepare treatment areas for incoming patients.
  • Transport patients to therapy department and prepare patients and equipment for treatments.
  • Maintain established levels of supplies including testing, linens, and office supplies.
  • Provide general assistance to Audiologist as directed, including instruction to patients concerning the use of equipment and directions for procedures.
  • Perform clerical duties such as maintain statistics, writing patient charges, answering telephone, and other related duties as directed.
  • Treats patients and families with compassion and implements plan of care.
  • Bases care decisions on plan of care.
  • Monitors and documents patient response.
  • Establishes rapport with clients.
  • Adapts communication style, listens and responds to patient needs.
  • Recognizes age-specific responses to treatment.
  • Provides effective interventions.
  • Respects patients confidentiality and privacy.
  • Supports social, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients and families.
  • Manages difficult or emotional patient situations.
  • Documents and submits required information and data in a timely fashion.
  • Clearly and accurately documents designated processes, policies, products, service offerings, etc.
  • Ensures that documentation is tailored to expected readers / users.
  • Uses correct terminology.
  • Conforms to required style and format.
