About The Position

Rush Truck Centers is the largest network of commercial vehicle dealerships in the US, representing truck and bus manufacturers like Peterbilt, International, Hino, Isuzu, Ford, IC Bus, and Blue Bird. We are seeking a New Truck Sales Representative to solicit truck sales business within an assigned territory, which involves customary and regular in-person work away from the dealership. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable according to Rush insurance requirements.
  • Regular vehicle travel within assigned territory.
  • Meet Account Management, Productivity and Performance requirements as outlined in the New Truck Personnel System and Standardization Framework.
  • Complete all required training as outlined in the New Truck Personnel System and Standardization Framework.
  • Conduct business ethically and professionally.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by observing safety procedures and requiring staff to follow safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain work area in an orderly fashion, including vehicle.
  • Maintain current knowledge of truck specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Self-generate prospective customers and business opportunities with new and existing customers.
  • Manage 10-50 assigned key accounts and 20-100 retail accounts within or outside the marketplace.
  • Maintain relationships within the assigned territory and make personal sales calls at customer locations at least three (3) full business days a week, with daily visits required by the New Truck Personnel System and Standardization Framework matrix.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of sales opportunities by regularly making sales calls and following up on generated quotes.
  • Utilize Microsoft CRM for managing accounts and contacts, documenting all communications and business interactions weekly with specific detail.
  • Coordinate service work (PDI, add-ons, repairs) with the service department, requiring a Purchase Order with an authorized signature before service.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Insurance Departments, providing accurate information and paperwork for customer financing and insurance.
  • Self-generate prospective sales for Truck Warranties, RushCare Contract Maintenance, and RushCare telematics.
  • Identify customers' overall business needs beyond just transportation needs.
  • Properly complete all paperwork associated with a truck sales transaction.
  • Obtain Sales Manager’s approval on all truck deals.
  • Promote and support the "One Team" vision by selling all offered services: Parts, Service, Body Shop, New Trucks, and Used Trucks.
  • Follow departmental procedures in completing truck paperwork using available systems tools.
