The Itinerant New Teacher Ambassador is an experienced Exceptional Student Services (ESS) Itinerant teacher who, in addition to providing high quality services within their own assigned schools, extends their impact by supporting newly hired itinerant teachers within their department. This role provides social emotional support, mentorship, and department specific guidance to both novice and experienced teachers who are new to the department, fostering a sense of community, belonging, confidence, and understanding of their role. Serves as a communication liaison by reinforcing information shared by department leadership, connecting new staff with available resources, and promoting consistent implementation of departmental practices and expectations. Through relationship building, mentorship, and ongoing support, this role contributes to teacher well being, successful onboarding, and long term retention while helping cultivate a collaborative, supportive, and consistent department culture. This role does not include release time. Responsibilities are fulfilled in addition to the teacher's regular itinerant teaching responsibilities.
