About The Position

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is seeking a New Shop Opening (NSO) Project Manager to oversee the design, execution, and construction workflow for both company-owned and franchise locations. This role involves managing projects from inception to close-out, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly motivated individual with strong project management experience in retail construction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years project management experience within a retail construction environment
  • Demonstrated experience in creating/managing a portfolio of projects from identification through to project close-out.
  • Experience managing construction budgets, value engineering conversations and negotiating change orders.
  • Versatility to manage multiple projects in various stages at any one time.
  • Practiced in store development processes, vendor management and client relations.
  • Highly motivated, creative, detail oriented, and dependable.
  • Open to learn and accessible to all levels of the organization.
  • Possess organizational, time management, and troubleshooting competence.
  • Excellent team player, and capability to work independently.
  • Superb communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize program needs with constantly changing priorities.
  • Proactive and solution oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Design Process Architect & engineer (A&E) selection, input, and cost controls.
  • Maintain milestone development schedule and define cross-functional touch points.
  • Lead value engineering efforts.
  • Define A&E and GC project scopes and ensure A&E deliverable timing and document quality.
  • Award contracts, validate and approve change orders & work authorizations.
  • Ensure project communications and budget status are updated internally.
  • Balance workloads and ensure "Bang for Buck" with partners.
  • Ensure project delivery timing, quality, and budget.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure quality and timing expectations.
  • Assemble best in class (BIC) project teams (GC, vendors, A&E).
  • Continuously improve all aspects of design and construction.
  • Manage bidding process & communications, ensuring bids are complete and on time.
  • Ensure project awards are in line with project schedules.
  • Update project budget tracking documents and milestone tracking documents.
  • Ensure change orders, RFIs/RFCs, and submittals are logged and tracked.
  • Coordinate project team meetings and ensure weekly reporting is complete, logged, and tracked.
  • Manage invoicing and closeout processes.
  • Coordinate schedules with vendors (i.e. Signage, AV, Telecom, etc.).
  • Manage 3rd party RFPs, invoicing, and budget tracking.
  • Deliver clear turnover expectations and develop/improve T/O systems and tools through cross-functional collaboration.
