About The Position

GlobalFoundries is hiring a new college graduate to join its New Product Development team as an early-career Test Engineer. The role develops and productizes cost-effective automated test solutions for complex digital, analog, and mixed-signal integrated circuits used in automotive and industrial applications. The engineer contributes throughout the product lifecycle, from pre-silicon test strategy through silicon bring-up, qualification, manufacturing release, yield improvement, and cost reduction using Advantest and Teradyne ATE platforms. The position supports test planning, ATE hardware and test-program development, validation and debugging, characterization and data analysis, qualification activities, and manufacturing improvements. The engineer works with cross-functional teams and, under the guidance of experienced engineers, contributes to test hardware, socket design, schematics, layout, diagnostic code, and automation specifications. Assigned products are owned from silicon bring-up through manufacturing release, with attention to product-entitlement targets and critical ramp metrics. The new college graduate program offers full-time employment, accelerated training, cross-functional opportunities, talent mobility, mentorship, networking, and leadership opportunities.

Requirements

  • Graduating with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field from an accredited degree program.
  • Overall GPA of at least 3.0 and proven good academic standing.
  • English fluency, written and verbal.
  • Experience in semiconductor test, design-for-test (DFT), or integrated-circuit design.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, including C, C++, Python, or Perl.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior related internship or co-op experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, or similar settings.
  • Strong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making.
  • Project management skills, including the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter and navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Advantest or Teradyne ATE platforms.
  • Knowledge of ATE architecture and experience developing low-level test code.
  • Experience testing digital, analog, or mixed-signal integrated circuits.
  • Experience with silicon characterization, qualification, or manufacturing ramp.
  • Familiarity with applicable automotive, industrial, or commercial semiconductor qualification standards.

Responsibilities

  • Translate product requirements and datasheets into technical specifications, specification-compliance matrices, design-for-test requirements, and ATE test plans to support pre-silicon planning.
  • Assist with the design of cost-effective ATE hardware and resource allocation to improve multisite efficiency and pin multiplexing for silicon bring-up, validation, and production release.
  • Develop, bring up, validate, and debug automated test programs for digital, analog, and mixed-signal integrated circuits on Advantest and Teradyne ATE platforms.
  • Analyze test and characterization data to investigate design margins, wafer-fabrication process variation, parametric performance, yield, and test-time opportunities.
  • Support process-window experiments, silicon and package qualification activities, and product specification compliance for automotive, industrial, or commercial requirements.
  • Collaborate with Design, DFT, Design Validation, Program Management, Quality and Reliability Engineering, Customer Quality Engineering, Bench Characterization, Applications, Fab, Assembly, and factory Test teams.
  • Contribute to ATE test hardware, socket design, board schematics, layout, diagnostic code, and test automation specifications under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Document gaps, lessons learned, and best practices, and contribute reusable methods to the Standard Test Methods Library (STML) across ATE platforms.
  • Own assigned products from silicon bring-up through manufacturing release, drive product-entitlement targets and critical ramp metrics, and support test-time, yield, burn-in, and manufacturing-flow improvements.
  • Perform all activities safely and responsibly and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
