About The Position

KEMET Electronics Corporation, a YAGEO Group company, is seeking a New Product Development Engineer to lead product and process development initiatives within their Simpsonville Innovation Center for Tantalum Polymer Capacitors. This role involves working at the intersection of research, engineering, and manufacturing to develop next-generation electronic components and advanced materials solutions. The position offers an opportunity to influence the entire innovation cycle, from concept development and experimental design to pilot-scale implementation and manufacturing launch. The engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across R&D, engineering, operations, quality, and manufacturing to bring new technologies from the laboratory to commercial reality. The company encourages applications from individuals with backgrounds in advanced materials, manufacturing, semiconductor processing, automation, product development, electrochemistry, reliability engineering, or process engineering.

Requirements

• Lead technical development projects from concept through implementation.
• Design, plan, and execute experiments to evaluate new products, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Analyze data, draw technical conclusions, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Explore and evaluate emerging technologies that enable next-generation capacitor and materials solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, technicians, machinist, and manufacturing teams to develop innovative products and processes.
• Work with a dedicated lab facility, pilot manufacturing equipment, and automation systems with support from advanced analytical groups and multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Develop and optimize testing methods, process controls, and performance evaluation techniques.
• Support scale-up activities from laboratory and pilot operations to full manufacturing implementation.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing products, processes, and manufacturing capabilities.
