Position Highlights & Primary Responsibilities: Adult Medicine Intake / Access APC role focused on improving access for new Internal Medicine patients and supporting practice growth Serve as the first clinical point of contact for patients entering the Adult Medicine practice Focus on new patient visits, problem-focused evaluations, and care navigation, with appropriate transition to long-term primary care providers Clinical responsibilities include acute and subacute concerns, chronic disease assessment and stabilization, and initiation of preventive care No procedural responsibilities beyond standard outpatient Internal Medicine scope Anticipated patient volume of 14–18 patients per day, based on visit type and complexity 20–30-minute visit lengths, with flexibility for more complex visits Highly collaborative, team-based environment working closely with IM physicians, APCs, nursing staff, and medical assistants Key access role supporting timely patient evaluation and panel growth Monday–Friday, daytime schedule No call, weekend, or holiday responsibilities Well-suited for NPs or PAs who enjoy access-focused care, care coordination, and team-based primary care What makes an Optum organization different? Requirements

  • Board Certified as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Unlimited Licensure in the state of Massachusetts
  • Active DEA License

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within a Team Care model
  • Fluency in EMR systems & technology
  • EPIC experience a plus
