About The Position

Orthodontic Experts is dedicated to quality care and orthodontic excellence, and is a community committed to making a difference in the lives of its patients. The New Patient Coordinator II (NPC II) is on a training path to become an Orthodontic Assistant. Under the supervision of the orthodontist, the NPC II learns and masters various orthodontic procedures, demonstrating progress towards independent performance. The NPC II also serves as a backup for the New Patient Coordinator role, which involves taking records (pictures and x-rays) for patient treatment plans.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a dental or orthodontic setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist the orthodontist during procedures, such as adjusting braces and placing orthodontic appliances.
  • Complete Full Arch Bonding top and bottom, as well as bonding fixed retainers.
  • Debonding
  • Rebonding Brackets
  • Using various digital scanners
  • Making clear retainers
  • Delivering expanders, space maintainers and forsus.
  • Taking clear x-rays.
  • Taking clear photos.
  • Taking accurate scans for retainers.
  • Assisting in sterilizing equipment.
  • Maintaining clean working environment (not limited to picture & X-ray area).
  • Work with the Treatment Coordinator to ensure patient case acceptance by orchestrating a “warm hand-off” to the TC.
  • Assist in meeting and/or exceeding monthly and annual clinic goals.
  • Cover topics such as payment options and provide the patient with general information regarding insurance coverage as it relates to orthodontics.
  • In the event you are traveling to another clinic, you are required to perform all duties and responsibilities of your role including administrative tasks.
  • Participate in Marketing Events
  • Completion of annual compliance training
  • Other tasks as assigned.
